About Us

Cut Maple Fires & Stoves Ltd was founded in 2008 by Gary & Nick.  Gary brought with him a wealth of experience from his work at Taylor & Portway and Halstead Fireplaces while Nick's background lay in restoration of antique fireplaces and stoves. 

Shortly after the company was formed we took over Halstead Fireplaces Ltd who had previously been manufacturing and suppling the Halstead Fireplace Collection to a network of stockists nationwide. The fireplace collection was originally developed and manufactured by Taylor & Portway.

The company was formed with the aim to provide a customer-orientated, value-for-money service.  To help fulfil this, both Nick and Gary trained and qualified as HETAS engineers to enable them to offer a complete service to customers.

We are based just outside Halstead in between the North Essex villages of Gosfield and Sible Hedingham in a small area known as Cut Maple, hence the name!  On site we have a factory where the Halstead Fireplace Collection is manufactured.  We also have a showroom open to the public where we have a wide range of fireplaces and stoves on show.  As you might expect, we have the largest selection of Halstead Fireplace Collection fireplaces on display in the country!
