The Halstead Fireplace Collection

Full installation instructions are provided with fireplaces.  Please ensure that you or your fireplace fitter read these instructions in full before starting to install your fireplace or hearth as we cannot accept responsibility for any defects or damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions.

We take considerable care to ensure that your fireplace is delivered to you in first class condition.  To avoid damage during unpacking and installation, please handle the components with care.  Please check all components prior to installation to ensure that no damage has occurred whilst in transit.  Do not install any sections of the fireplace if any part has been damaged or if any incorrect parts have been supplied.  Once the fireplace has been installed whether in part or in full, no claims or responsibility will be accepted by the manufacturers relating to chips or other damage to the material.

Ordering

When an order is placed with us you will receive a confirmation email with your invoice and details of the products you have ordered. Please check this information carefully and advise us as soon as possible of any errors or omissions to your order.  Although we will endeavour to help, we cannot be held responsible for errors and omissions in your order if you do not notify us of these within 12 hours or receipt of your confirmation email.

Collection

If you would prefer to collect your order from our shop you are welcome to do so. Please note that not all products are held in stock and some are made to order therefore we will contact you to arrange a convenient collection time. 

Delivery

For mainland UK addresses standard delivery is available for orders over £500.  For delivery destinations outside UK mainland please contact us for a delivery price.  Orders under £500 are subject to the delivery charges shown below

Orders of accessories are subject to considerable variation in packing charges.  If you wish to order accessories, please contact us for a shipping price to ensure that we are able to offer you our best price.

All of our stoves and fireplaces are delivered via a pallet network and will require access for a large 7.5 tonne lorry.  It is your responsibility to notify us, at the time of ordering, of any factors that may restrict our ability to deliver to your property.  Examples of factors that may restrict deliveries are long, gravelled drives, areas subject to height restrictions (including low hanging trees) and narrow lanes. We may be able to make alternative delivery arrangements if you contact us in advance.

If the carriers are unable to deliver to you, they will charge us for the failed delivery and the return of undelivered items to us. If you have not notified us of any potential restrictions in advance, we shall have to hold you liable for these charges.

Delivery of smaller items will be made via courier networks.

If you cancel an order after we have started to ship it, we regret that we have to make a shipping charge to return it to our warehouse, even if the products have not reached your address.

Items are usually dispatched for delivery within 7-10 days however, this is subject to availability.  You will be provided with an estimated lead time upon receipt of your order.  Please be aware that during peak times (for example, the lead up to Christmas) when goods are in high demand, there may be longer lead times.

Delays to delivery are possible and are outside our control. For this reason please ensure that you arrange your delivery with plenty of time before the product is due to be installed.  Ideally the installation should be booked after you have received the goods.  We cannot be held responsible for costs incurred as a result of delayed deliveries.

The carriers will only deliver the goods to the nearest entrance to your property; they will not be able to bring the goods inside. This is for insurance and health and safety reasons.

Please ensure that there will be someone at the delivery address on the day scheduled for delivery, available to help the driver unload and take the items to the delivery destination.

Please do not sign for or accept any goods until unpacked and checked in full. Only sign if you are satisfied with the condition of your purchase. Items which have been signed for are deemed to be complete and in good condition, and we cannot then accept claims for damage in transit or missing items after 48 hours of receipt. If goods are damaged and have been signed for in good condition we will require photographs of the damage.

Installation

All heating appliances should be fitted by a qualified engineer.  Installers fitting solid fuel stoves (i.e. wood burning and multi-fuel stoves) should be HETAS registered.  Installers fitting gas fires should be Gas Safe registered engineers.  Click on the links to go to the relevant site to source an engineer.

We offer a solid fuel installation service through our in-house HETAS registered engineers to customers living within the Essex and Suffolk area.  Please contact us for further information.

Once we have delivered your order, you are responsible for the storage and installation of your product.

‘Cooling off’, Cancellations and Returns

Mail order, telephone and internet sales to individuals (not businesses) are covered by Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (UK Law Directive 97/7/EC), internet, mail order and telephone sales to individuals are subject to a 7 working day 'cooling off' period after the day after the product has been delivered.

You have the option to cancel any order between the time of placing it and 7 working days after delivery. Cancellations must be in writing by post, email or fax.  Please see our contact page for details.

You have the right to receive a refund within 30 days of cancellation. We normally pay refunds within 14 days of cancellation or the goods being returned safely (whichever is the later).

In order for us to accept returned items they must not have been fitted, installed or used in any way.  They must be free from marks and returned in their original packaging and in a saleable condition.

We will repair or replace (for free) any item found defective or damaged before delivery or during unloading. This is in addition to your manufacturer's guarantee.  However, we cannot accept return or products that have been damaged after delivery.

In order for us to check the goods upon their return, please select a carrier that will allow us to open the goods when we receive them.  If we are not able to inspect the goods prior to signing for them, the goods will be returned to your carrier and may lead to further costs to you. The cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility. Returned items to us must be sent by recorded delivery.

Your package will not be accepted by our warehouse unless your return has been approved by us prior to its return.
